Victoria Strachan

Facilitator, Coach and Business Role Player

Victoria has worked as a communications coach, facilitator, and business role-player for over fifteen years.

Victoria’s early background is grounded in communication. Studying English at Oxford, her career started in fashion journalism at Harper’s Bazaar before she took a career-defining U-turn to train, late in the day as far as industry standards were concerned, as a professional actor. She worked in theatre and television for over ten years and where her work took her across the UK, Europe and the Far East, her personal standout moment was getting to work with Alun Ayckbourn, with his emphasis on casting actors who have never lost their ‘childlike spirit’ guiding her work since. She believes that only through play, through practice, trying, fluffing, getting it wrong, going again, do we truly embed, learn and transform. As a business role-player, she has worked with; Talk Talk, The Fund, Screwfix, Pareto, ES-UK, ERIKS, Iceland, B&Q.

Victoria continues to work as a voice-over artist currently voicing on many children’s animations shows currently on Netflix and Sky. She loves bringing her vocal dexterity to provide realism and distinction to her business role-player work.

As a facilitator, Victoria brings a real mix of high warmth and high challenge to a training space with establishing trust and rapport with her clients fundamental to her approach. Her specialism as a facilitator has lain in work exploring and creating inclusive workplace cultures and she is passionate advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion. Victoria regularly explores the super- power of empathy within her sessions. She has worked with: Grant Thornton, The British Army, Interrupt Labs, Qinetiq and a variety of departments across the Civil Service.

As a programme developer, Victoria’s specialises is in both creating and delivering bespoke simulation days for client which replicate workplace experiences, conversations, or meetings. Within simulation, you can employ the tools of theatre – preparation, rehearsal, practice and critically play to bring about high-level learning. She has worked in this field with UK Sport, Luno, Premier League and WithSecure.

Victoria considers it a privilege to support transformational learning. Her joy comes from seeing that break-through moment for a client where they uncover something about themselves that they didn’t necessarily know before and she is always struck by the courage, openness and willingness of those delegates that truly enter that transformational space.
